Parking Regulations

Parking Regulations

All vehicles driven to campus by any student, staff, or faculty member must be registered and have a current ؾ parking permit. This permit is to be displayed on the lower left hand corner of the back window. Parking permits are valid from July 1 through June 30 of each year and must be renewed within the first week of July.

Temporary Parking Form

Anytime the campus closes for a lengthy period of time, students who plan to leave their vehicles on campus are required to complete and submit a Temporary Parking Form and park in the identified area.

Valid Parking Space

Valid parking spaces are designated by pavement markings. Pavement markings consist of two parallel white lines forming a stall. Parking across or on top of these lines will result in a ticket being issued for a parking violation.

No Parking Areas

Parking is not permitted in areas not identified as a valid parking space. No parking areas do not require signage, and are often unmarked. Do not create or add parking spaces, regardless of how others are parked.  There is no parking in the Roemer lot between the hours of 12 midnight and 7:00 a.m. Certain areas, at times, will be reserved for special guests, and will be done so with cones, barrels, and/or caution tape. Moving, removing, and parking in these areas will result in a fine.

Handicapped Parking

Handicapped parking is designated by any of the following: Blue curb, emblem on the pavement and/or signage. A valid handicapped permit must be displayed.

Fire Lane

Yellow curbs designate fire lanes and are no parking areas.

Visitor Parking

Visitor parking spaces are designated for people who are not students or employees of ؾ.

Faculty, Staff, and Commuter lots

These lots are marked with free-standing signs. No RESIDENT students should park in these lots between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Memorial Arts Building (MAB) and selected spaces at Harmon Hall are all reserved for Faculty, Staff, or Commuters. In addition, there are designated spaces for Adjunct professors.  No Faculty or Staff are permitted to park in spaces reserved for Adjunct Instructors. Only vehicles displaying an “A” permit are permitted to park in an Adjunct spot.

Drivers Responsibility

It is the driver’s responsibility to find and park in a valid parking spot. Vehicular problems and inclement weather does not warrant parking in no parking areas. Drivers must obey the campus speed limit which is set to 15 MPH. Multiple violations will result in towing and loss of privileges.  ؾ Public Safety & Security reserves the right to change any of the regulation at any time without notice.

Appealing a Citation

Written appeals of parking tickets can be made to the director of Public Safety and Security within 30 days of the date the ticket was issued. Appeals must include the ticket number, date, and time the ticket was received and an explanation of the reason for the appeal. The director of Public Safety and Security will reply indicating whether (1) the ticket has been dismissed, (2) the fine has been reduced, or (3) the ticket has been sustained and the fine must be paid.
